Note that i don't publish contests that don't appear on your front page journal at you dA account! I've noticed that usually when contests are not published in your journal (front page of your account) these contests disapeared! I take serious contests organisations!
That's why i prefer that you give me your journal link. A journal can be updated not a news article (unless if you are a dA admin ).

ostit: TIPS FOR ORGANIZING A CONTEST ostit:

Some basics you should know before you hold a contest.

Contests aren't made to be popular, forget that;

Contests are made to stimulate creativity, discover other's art, experiencing new technics, getting inspired, and well winning something...

First find a theme for your contest, and with this theme gives it a title, it's important for deviants to know what you're talking about and to click the link to your contest!

Specify the categories (media/galleries) allowed;

Set the Deadline (giving a deadline is HIGHLY adviced);

Make a journal entry (i advice you to ALWAYS have a link in your frontpage journal to your contest journal entry and to never delete the contest journal entry);

Make clear rules in your journal/news article;

Give any informations you think are necessary (such as copyrights, credits), make a lil intro for your contest theme, ...

Ask deviants you know to be judge(s) if you need them;

Call for prizes if you need (DON'T SPAM!);

Make a stamp and journal CSS, if you can't you can ask a deviant you know to make one;

When all this is completed make a news article & an announcement in the Contests Forum!

For other promotion purposes you can add a link to your contest in your signature.

Then collect the entries in your contest journal (if you have many entries i advice you to use the collection tool in your favorites folder) - deviants should send the entries via notes);

Don't forget to announce the results, give the prizes...

If you're unsure of what to do then browse the journals of some contests holders and you'll get ideas and directions
